The HR Generalist position will at a high level be responsible for working on the below in addition to other Institute and campus-wide projects (other duties as assigned):


  • Proactively develops and maintains an effective recruitment strategy for scientific and administrative support positions, including selection and hiring processes that are monitored through use of metrics.

  • Takes ownership of assigned requisitions and performs recruitment activities from establishment of position scope through offer negotiation and onboarding.

  • Provides guidance to all staff regarding the recruitment process, policy interpretation, associated procedures and application of relative laws and regulations.

  • Responsible for preparing TSRI’s annual AAP and for implementing, directing and monitoring the recruitment process to ensure compliance with the Institute’s Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action policy. 

  • Develops, implements and maintains good faith effort for outreach programs such as attending job fairs.

  • Stays abreast of current relevant state and federal employment laws and latest developments in recruitment strategies, techniques, HR programs and technologies as well as AAP, EEOC, and OFCCP compliance. Modifies systems and processes in response to changes in regulations.

  • Recommends solutions to employment issues based on knowledge of policies, established practices and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.

  • Manages the purchasing of online job postings and other recruitment-related items including approval and allocation of expenses and review of monthly credit card statements.

  • In conjunction with HR team members, participates in the development and implementation of new or revised human resources programs, systems, procedures, and methods of operation

  • Supports site staff with the completion of Personnel Action Forms

  • Partners with California staff regarding compensation for new roles including assisting with drafting job descriptions, position benchmarking and pricing.

  • Partners with HR Manager and other staff to develop training, programs or drive initiatives based on goals and needs regarding employee development.

  • May assist or provide backup coverage and support to leaders and employees for a variety of HR functions including employee relations issues, workers’ compensation claim administration, and leave of absence administration, etc.


Minimum 3 years experience and a Bachelor's in HR required!

Salary: $65k annually
